Sandi Toksvig (Women’s Equality Party) wins our ‘Lying Feminist of the Month’ award

The BBC has given more coverage to a newly-formed party, the Women’s Equality Party, in the course of two weeks, than it has given J4MB in the past two years – and it surely goes without saying that their coverage of the new party has been uncritical. In stark contrast, our last exposure on the BBC was in the Ashfield hustings before the general election, to which the BBC had invited an all-women audience to ask mainly questions about women’s issues. Not one question was asked about men’s issues, and whenever I raised any men’s issues, the young feminist presenter pulled the microphone away. At least I appeared on the programme. Ray Barry, our candidate in Broxtowe, wasn’t invited to appear at the Broxtowe hustings, and only learned of them the day after they were broadcast.

So ridiculous is the idea of a British political party campaigning for women’s equality – with all the major parties being anti-male, and driven by radical feminist ideology to a greater or lesser degree – that we knew it couldn’t be long before someone connected with the party was eligible for our ‘Lying Feminist of the Month’ award.

The honour goes to lesbian comedienne Sandi Toksvig, the party’s spokeswoman, for comments she made on the BBC TV programme The One Show five days ago. Details are on her award certificate, along with a link to a section of the programme on our YouTube channel.

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.
