Muirfield to lose right to host Open after vote against allowing women members

Our thanks to H for this. He writes:

At last! Some men have strapped on a pair, and drawn a line in the sand. I didn’t expect the line to be drawn in a bunker on a prestigious golf course, but it’s a start!

The (BBC) article includes a comment from Nicola Sturgeon, who introduced a gender-balanced cabinet regardless of individuals’ merit, shortly after being appointed as First Minister. The daft trout tweeted:

Scotland has women leaders in every walk of life. It is 2016. This is indefensible.

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.

  1. MacOisdealbh says:

The hypocrisy associated with complaints about gender restricted associations and clubs is astounding. If any kind of men only club exists or is established, it is viewed with outrage, but if there are even any comments about women only clubs the criticism is about the complainer and the apparent misogyny of the complaint.

  2. Since when was “it’s the current year” a logical argument?

Women are allowed their “safe spaces” like women-only gym classes and suchlike. It’s just churlish to oppose men having their own space. After all, it was only men who built the course and everything on it.
