Our thanks to E for this. We’ve long known that feminists aren’t the sharpest knives in the block, but those at The London Feminist Network (LFN) have to be among the bluntest. They make Jess Phillips MP and Harriet Harman MP look like intellectual giants, by comparison.
LFN is organizing a ‘Reclaim the Night’ march in London on 19 November, International Men’s Day. From the website:
Marches are normally held on the nearest Saturday to the 25th November to mark the UN Day to End Violence Against Women.
That would be Saturday, 26 November, not the day they’ve chosen, International Men’s Day, 19 November. Doh!
From the same web page:
Join us for London Reclaim the Night! Close down central London for women, put your feet on the streets to shout a loud NO to rape and all forms of male violence [my emphasis] against women.
Female violence against women is presumably fine. They show no concern over the long-known fact that the cohort of intimate partners perpetrating and suffering the highest levels of interpersonal violence are lesbians.
At the end of the page is a joke – in bold, for added emphasis – presumably penned by Kate Smurfwit or Sandi Toxic:
Join the feminist revival!
