House of Common Library briefing paper for International Men’s Day

At the start of the debate yesterday, Philip Davies spoke approvingly of the briefing paper – ‘debate pack’, in parliamentary vernacular – prepared by the House of Commons Library for the debate. Our thanks to Kevin for tracking it down, it’s 36 pages long – here.

If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.

  1. epistemol says:

    That this document exists AT ALL, albeit without any force at all, is itself a good thing.

    It means SOMEONE is writing the truth, even if only to order.

    In the section about rough sleeping, although it recognises that the great majority of rough sleepers are men it also states;

    “The annual rough sleeper counts do not include a gender breakdown”.

    Oh?

    One is bound to wonder why.

    On a different subject, J4MB’s policy is to make the vile practice of MGM (Male Genital Mutilation, made to seem less unacceptable by calling it ‘circumscision’) it’s No.1 campaigning issue, and I support that.

    However, my personal interest centres on education, and this discussion document makes it very clear that boys and young men are being disadvantaged at ALL levels.
    This can ONLY be a deliberate policy given it’s ubiquity.

    Not only is this grievously unfair to individuals, but the result WILL be an increase in feMarxist power and influence, that even if corrected now, (it won’t be) will take a generation to slowly work it’s though our society.
    During which time who knows what harm will be done through it – it’s entirely possible that policies and legislation will be enacted that
    makes male life a (deliberate) punishment in and of itself.

    I you and I may not be around to see it, but is this what you really want for your sons and grandsons?

    The FUTURE is being MADE NOW.
